Comedy
Due to a legal loophole, the Class of 2008 must return to high school, now in their mid-30s –– bringing with them midlife baggage and teenage angst. Gleefully ludicrous and committed to its own absurdity, this ensemble comedy earns every outrageous laugh.

Due to a bureaucratic loophole discovered decades later, the graduating class of North Meadows High School never officially received their diplomas. Now in their mid-30s, they are legally required to return to finish high school. Old flames, buried secrets and the specific humiliation of being a full-grown adult in a teenage institution collide in this gleefully unhinged ensemble comedy that commits fully to its own absurdity and earns every outrageous laugh along the way.

Never Change! works as both a sharp send-up of ‘90s nostalgia dramedies and a genuinely funny entry in the genre. The ensemble is consistently inventive, the comedy ranges from slyly clever to deliriously stupid, and the film's willingness to push its premise to the absolute limit is its greatest strength. It has a Zucker Brothers commitment to the gag with a Broken Lizard energy that rewards audiences who show up ready to surrender.—Jarod Neece
