Full Circle Expeditions, led by mountaineer Phil Henderson, isn’t just about summiting mountains: it’s about making the outdoors accessible to all. In 2022, Henderson organized the first all-Black team to attempt Mount Everest, bringing together a group of climbers determined to take on both the mountain and the perceptions of who belongs there. As they ascend, they face not only the physical dangers of Everest, but also the added pressure of what the climb represents.
This intimate documentary follows the team as they push toward the summit, navigating both the demands of the climb and the group's dynamics through candid interviews and close access. In a culture often defined by individual achievement, they prioritize collective success, supporting one another through harsh conditions and unpredictable terrain. This isn’t just about reaching the summit; it’s about how they do it and why it matters.—Robin Robinson
